Farmers and ranchers are invited to the Angus Commercial Cattlemen’s Day at Cattlemen’s Congress Jan. 5 in Oklahoma City. This Friday event, hosted by the American Angus Association, features education, competition and fellowship.
Cattlemen wanting to stay ahead of the curve in business and breeding should plan to attend the day, which features a pen-and-carload show, “Balancing the Consumer and the Cow” educational session, luncheon featuring Certified Angus Beef® (CAB®) product, the National Angus Bull Sale and Herdsman Social.
Cattle producers are invited to enjoy education, competition and fellowship with The Business Breed on Jan. 5 at OKC Fairgrounds.
The Angus Pen & Carload Show kicks off the day at 8:30 a.m. in the Performance Arena on OKC Fairgrounds. The coffee will be brewing in the Angus booth in Super Barn 1, and staff will be available to answer questions and help you purchase merchandise from the Brand Store.
At 10:00 a.m., Angus University will host “Balancing the Consumer and the Cow,” an educational program for all types of cattle producers. Moderated by Radio Oklahoma Network’s Ron Hays, featured panelists will include Mark Johnson of Oklahoma State University, Jesse Luckie of Snake Creek Cattle Co. and Paul Dykstra of Certified Angus Beef. Dykstra will present a market insights presentation before the panel discussion. Time is allotted for questions from the audience, so producers can join the conversation in the Performance Arena.
Cattlemen can connect with one another at the Angus luncheon featuring CAB product. Serving will start at 11:30 a.m. in the Performance Arena.
All are invited to view leading Angus genetics from top producers across the country during the National Angus Bull Sale Preview in the Super Barn Sale Arena. Viewing begins at 12:30 p.m.
The National Angus Bull Sale will start at 2:00 p.m. The sale is an exciting, live event that brings together cattlemen passionate about the power of Angus genetics. Kicking off the bull sale will be the sale of the Angus Foundation Heifer Package. This year’s package is headlined by a female donated by Yon Family Farms of Ridge Springs, SC.
At 3:45 p.m., attendees can unwind with a social hour at the Cattlemen’s Bar as the Association honors Herdsman of the Year finalists. At approximately 5:00 p.m., a live auction will benefit the Angus Foundation and the Herdsman of the Year will be announced.
