Take the new www.angus.org for a test drive.

Have you driven a vehicle with a backup camera mounted in the dash? It’s one of those things you never knew you needed until it became part of your every day. Now, it and those warning buzzers letting you know you’re too close have become necessities.

Give it a couple months of your attention and the new www.angus.org may likewise change lanes from periodic excursion to daily destination.

“The Association launched its newly retooled web presence July 31,” explains Miranda Reiman, Angus Media director of digital content and strategy, in an article announcing the changes. “The goals included making the site easier to navigate, presenting information in an updated format and becoming an even better resource for members and commercial producers using Angus genetics.”

That article can be found — where else — front and center on www.angus.org. It offers insight as to what prompted the updates, what hasn’t changed and what improvements were priorities.

Being more helpful to commercial cattlemen was one of the priorities of the construction. Two destinations you’ll definitely want to drop a pin in to visit frequently are the Angus Beef Bulletin home page and the Commercial Cattlemen’s page.

It’s easy to locate the Angus Beef Bulletin page from www.angus.org Just look for “News” in the white navigation bar at the top of the page. You’ll find the Angus Beef Bulletin as one of the pull-down options.

The page is home to all our resources to help you make the most of your investment in Angus genetics, including the latest stories in the magazine, the Angus Beef Bulletin EXTRA newsletter and the Angus At Work podcast.

You can find the four-edition set of Feeder-Calf Marketing Guides under “Our Media.” You’ll also find links to “Back Editions” and “Angus At Work.”

Commercial Cattlemen’s page

Follow the route to “Power Your Herd” to access the Commercial Cattlemen’s page designed to be a central hub to easily shuttle you to the information you need.

Whether you’re a novice wanting to start your journey by learning about the advantages of Angus, or on the pro tour needing the fast lane to programs to help you capture the added value of Angus, you’ll find this page a great starting point. It’s like an online map where you can filter points of interest (gas stations, hotels, etc.) you might consider stopping at along the way — and this one is filtered just for you (sale books, Angus Beef Bulletin stories, Commercial Programs, etc.).

As with any new stretch of highway, there may be patches to smooth out.
