Inventory Reporting

Inventory Reporting is a voluntary option within Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR) program. Inventory Reporting allows members to submit AHIR data the same way as the traditional AHIR system of Individual Reporting. Inventory Reporting, however, also adds a layer of ensuring records are kept for each female over 12 months of age to keep complete, lifetime records for each female. Each female has an annual $2 AHIR fee. Members who participate in Inventory Reporting will receive the research longevity EPD on registered animals in their herd when the research EPD is released. Requirements for Inventory Reporting

During your annual enrollment period, each female is required to have one of three things submitted during the last 12 months. By reporting one of the three below, it keeps record on an annual basis of what the dam’s production record is and if no calf was born, keeps record of why no calf.

A calf (birth date, sex, dam) OR
A reason code for why she didn’t have a calf to report OR
A disposal code and date for the cow

Earning the MaternalPlus™ designation shows on EPD/Pedigree lookup to show your operation is dedicated to data reporting, provides you and your customers with information to make effective selection decisions, expands reproductive and cow survivability tools, and so much more. Earning the designation also provides the CED, BW, and WW EPD for unregistered calves in your herd, providing additional selection tools earlier

Meet requirements for Inventory Reporting
Heifer Breeding Records
For inventoried cows (one of the following)

Calf weaning weight (or pre-weaning disposal code)
Disposal code for cow
Reason code for why cow didn’t produce

Details

To earn the MaternalPlus designation, you must enroll in Inventory Reporting during one of the two time periods.
Earning a MaternalPlus designation is free of charge once the $2 Inventory Reporting fee has been paid.
Reporting data can be done through the traditional means of performance reporting, such as AAA login, Angus Information Management Software (AIMS), and other software.
