Angus Champions Named at 2024 Missouri State Fair

Exhibitors led 189 entries at the 2024 Missouri State Fair Angus Show, August 9 in Sedalia, Mo. Will Coor, Greenfield, Ohio, evaluated the 133 females, 25 bulls and six cow-calf pairs, and John Ridder, Marthasville, Mo., evaluated the 26 phenotype and genotype heifers before selecting champions.

AML Party Line 310 claimed grand champion and intermediate champion bull honors. AM Livestock, Richmond, Kan., owns the May 2023 son of STAG Good Times 201 ET.

Rance Wheeler, Paris, Mo., owns the reserve grand champion bull. Wheeler Hunters Ted Lasso is a September 2022 son of BNWZ Dignity 8017. He earlier won senior champion.

  Kruse Annie Lu 3861 captured grand champion female for Cassie Kleeman, Braymer, Mo. The April 2023 daughter of BNWZ Dignity 8017 first won late junior champion.

  Cealy Bedwell, Holt, Mo., showed the reserve grand champion female. CB Princess 316 is a December 2023 daughter of PVF Insight 0129 and first won late senior calf champion.

  Richardson Jewel 9001 was named grand champion cow-calf pair. Ashlyn Richardson, Lincoln, Mo., owns the December 2018 daughter of Colburn Primo 5153. A February 2024 heifer calf sired by Stevenson Icon 10028 completes the winning pair.

Easton Washam, Pierce City, Mo., owns the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. HS Miss Wix 622 162 EGW is a March 2022 daughter of Conley Express 7211. An April 2024 heifer calf sired by Raven Republic I564 completes the winning duo.

Caroline Frank, Fulton, Mo., showed the grand champion female in phenotype and genotype portion of the show Galaxy Rita 38992 is the August 2023 daughter of FHCC Foundation 1558.

Lane Pohlman, Oak Ridge, Mo., led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Birks Lady Lola 3110 is the April 2023 daughter of Deer Valley Optimum 9246.
