What is BLI?
- Established in 2007, the Beef Leaders Institute (BLI) is designed for Association members 25-45 years old to provide insight into the beef industry, while enhancing their knowledge and strengthening leadership skills. The annual event is hosted by the American Angus Association and funded by the Angus Foundation and Certified Angus Beef® brand (CAB®).
- During the three-day event, BLI participants can tour a beef harvesting and packing facility, retailer, fabricator, feedlots and other industry segments, including the Association. BLI provides Association members the opportunity to experience the beef value chain from pasture to plate.

Why Should You Apply?
BLI offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in to beef industry while enhancing your leadership skills. This exclusive program is designed for members who are eager to expand their knowledge into every stage of the beef value chain. Through hands-on experiences, BLI participants will tour industry facilities — from harvesting and packing facilities to feedlots and retailers — giving you a comprehensive understanding of the journey from pasture to plate. By applying, you have the chance to deepen your leadership skills and industry knowledge.
The program will include the following:
The Association will provide transportation during the BLI, as well as lodging, meals and materials. The attendees will be responsible for their round-trip transportation between their home to Kansas City (if flying) or Saint Joseph (if driving) and their departure to home from Cleveland, Ohio (if flying) or Kansas City to get vehicle at the American Angus Association. Transportation from the Kansas City airport on both Sunday, June 8, and Friday, June 13, will be provided.
