As the beef industry evolves, so does the need for producers and advocates to stay ahead of the curve. Beef Academy offers an exceptional opportunity to deepen your knowledge and become a more informed and influential voice in the beef community. Having completed the program myself, I can confidently say it’s one of the most valuable ways to enhance your understanding of the beef industry while improving your communication skills.

What is Beef Academy?

Beef Academy is a fully online learning program designed for junior members of the beef industry. The course is tailored to every age range, and focuses on providing a well-rounded beef education.

Currently, the modules cover five key segments of the beef industry, showing how they work together to create the dynamic system that supports beef production.

The program’s flexibility is one of its greatest strengths. Whether you’re balancing farm work, school, sports or other activities, Beef Academy allows you to learn at your own pace. It’s an ideal option for anyone looking to expand their knowledge without disrupting their busy schedule.

Why is Beef Academy important?

In today’s digital age, consumers are asking more questions than ever about where their food comes from. Unfortunately, the answers they find are often clouded by misinformation.

As producers, it’s our responsibility to make sure that accurate information about beef production reaches the public.

Beef Academy equips participants with the skills to engage in meaningful, fact-based conversations about the benefits of beef, the importance of animal welfare and the industry’s commitment to sustainability. Becoming a certified advocate through Beef Academy empowers you to bridge the gap between producers and consumers, helping them understand the vital role beef plays in their lives.

The perfect time to start

With the holidays approaching, there’s no better time to start or continue your journey with Beef Academy. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, many of us find ourselves with a little extra time. I encourage all Angus members to use this opportunity to dive into the new modules being released, covering topics such as Beef Breeds & Genetics and Beef Science.

Not only will these modules help prepare you for the future of the beef industry, but you’ll also return to your daily routines armed with new insights and a fresh set of skills. The holiday season offers the perfect window to invest in yourself and your future.

Support behind Beef Academy

Beef Academy wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of donors and industry leaders committed to nurturing the next generation of beef advocates.

The Angus Foundation, Ingram Angus and the American Angus Association have worked tirelessly to make this mission a reality. Their contributions have enabled Beef Academy to be developed and offer high-quality educational modules, ensuring that participants receive the best training possible.

By enrolling in Beef Academy, you’re joining a community of dedicated advocates who understand the importance of informed, proactive communication in shaping the future of the beef industry.

Take the next step

If you haven’t yet joined Beef Academy, now is the perfect time to get started. With new modules available and the upcoming holiday season providing an ideal opportunity to dive in, there’s no better moment to elevate your understanding of the beef industry. I’ve completed the program, and I can personally attest to the value it brings.

Take that step and invest in your future and the future of our industry by becoming a Beef Academy graduate this season.
