Angus Youth Parade Champions at the Iowa Junior Angus Preview Show
Iowa junior Angus members led 130 entries at the 2024 Iowa Junior Angus Preview Show, June 15 in Eldora, Iowa. Jennifer Bedwell, Stillwater, Okla., evaluated the 24 bred-and-owned females, 67 owned females, six bred-and-owned bulls, three cow-calf pairs, 19 registered steers and 11 phenotype and genotype females before selecting champions.
FCF Phyllis 261 was named supreme champion and grand champion owned female after first winning the senior champion. The October 2022 daughter of Silveiras Haras Primal 8525 is owned by Madison Collison, Rockwell City, Iowa.
UDE Ellie 3038 claimed the reserve grand champion owned female title. Shelby Greiman, Goodell, Iowa, owns the May 2023 daughter of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B that first won intermediate champion.
Reserve supreme champion and grand champion bred-and-owned female honors went to Plum Creek Rosebud 3940. Hunter Anderson, Algona, Iowa, owns the February 2023 female sired by Plum Creek Paradox 161B. She first won junior champion.
Burns Party Girl 23K16 was selected as reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning intermediate champion. The May 2023 daughter of PVF Blacklist 1022 is owned by Kennedy Burns, Oxford, Iowa.
Cale Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa, led Jensen Cadilliac 312 of FAF to grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors. The January 2023 son of KR Cadilliac Ranch first won junior champion.
Jensen Lightning 3107 FAF claimed the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Callie Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa, owns the September 2023 bull sired by Dameron Viroqua. He first won senior calf champion.
Cale Jensen, Plainfield, Iowa, led the grand champion cow-calf pair. Jensen Georgina 188 of FAF is the September 2021 daughter of PVF Blacklist 7077. A November 2023 heifer calf sired by STAG Good Times 201 ET completes the winning pair.
SCC SFC Phyllis 048 won reserve champion cow-calf pair for Sawyer Claussen, Stockton, Iowa. She is the April 2020 daughter of SSF On Point 4028. A January 2024 heifer calf sired by PVF Blacklist 7077 is at side.
R&C LB Boone 3971 won grand champion steer and is owned by Reagan Claussen, Walcott, Iowa. He is the April 2023 son of BNWZ Dignity 8017.
Jacob Pilcher, Norwalk, Iowa, led Cory Follow Me 4L to reserve grand champion steer. He is a March 2023 son of Moffitt Follow Me M206.
GRMN Ice Man won grand champion bred-and-owned steer and is owned by Sam Greiman, Perry, Iowa. He is the February 2023 son of KR Cadilliac Ranch.
Kerrigan Mobley, Diagonal, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bred-and-owned steer. Mobley Ragnar M364 is the January 2023 son of Mobleys Weigh Up M072.
Lane Cherne, Guttenberg, Iowa, showed the grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Cherne Evergreen G316-L352 is the January 2023 daughter of BJ Surpass.
Will Till, Maquoketa, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion female in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Deppe Barbara Ann 3488 is the September 2023 daughter of Basin Safe Deposit 9324.
Callie Jensen showed the grand champion bull in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Jensen Lightning 3107 FAF is the September 2023 son of Dameron Viroqua.
Cord Houk, Blakesburg, Iowa, led the reserve grand champion bull in the phenotype and genotype portion of the show. Houks Exceptional 2325 is the November 2023 son of Mead Primo U385.
