Angus Enthusiasts Tee-Up for the Tenth Annual Golf Tournament

With the scenic Rocky Mountains serving as the backdrop, 67 golfers enjoyed a day of golfing and Angus fellowship. Taking a break from the activities of the National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), young and old golfers alike came out to support the Angus Foundation July 13 at its 10th Annual Golf Tournament, held at Coal Creek Golf Course in Louisville, Colo.

ÒOur 67 players enjoyed this beautiful, yet very challenging course. This yearÕs golf tournament was another successful fundraiser for the Angus Foundation,Ó said Angus Foundation President Milford Jenkins. ÒMore than $14,400 was raised toward the Vision of Value: Campaign for Angus national fundraising effort for the Angus breed.Ó

After the completion of the tournament, the golfers were happy to return to the clubhouse to enjoy a Certified Angus Beef¨ steak lunch at the award ceremony, compliments of Lombardi Brothers Meat Packers, Inc., of Denver, Colo.

The winners of Flight A, representing South Dakota and Colorado, included players Scott Bush, Britton, S.D.; Dick Rogen, Brandon, S.D.; Chris Styles, Brentford, S.D.; and Jeff Creamer, Montrose, Colo. Winners of Flight B, representing Colorado and Illinois, included players Paul Hill, Platteville, Colo.; Scott Anderson and Shane Anderson, both of Chrisman, Ill.; and Justin Adcock, Moweaqua, Ill. Winners of Flight C, representing Maryland, included players Tim Clarke, Rocky Ridge; Dave Brauning, Finksburg; Keith Donnelly, Emmitsburg; and Myron Kennedy, Brookeville.

ÒWeÕre very appreciative of the players and sponsors who help make this event possible for the Angus Foundation and who allow us to advance our education, youth and research activities for the betterment of the entire Angus breed,Ó Jenkins said, ÒWe invite others to share in this fun activity with us in Harrisburg, Pa., in 2011.Ó

The Angus Foundation was established in 1980 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization to support Angus education, youth and research.
