Angus University Education:
Broaden your knowledge about bull reproductive success during the Angus University Education session on Jan. 4 at 9 a.m. in the Super Barn Sale Arena. Attendees will gain insight on proper fertility maintenance tactics nutrition, annual exams and more. It’s sure to be an informational and enlightening event full of educational Angus content. National Angus Bull Sale:
The 84th National Angus Bull Sale will take place on Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Super Barn Sale Arena. The sale offers 39 lots of elite Angus genetics and the Foundation Heifer Package. The 2023 Angus Foundation Heifer Package is being donated by Coleman Angus of Charlo, Montana. The heifer, Coleman Chloe 173 (AAA+*20076459), is the highest $M valued Coleman Chloe female in the ranch’s herd and is backed by a pedigree represented by the operation’s most notable cow families. 150 Years of Angus Celebration & Social:
The year 2023 marks 150 years since the first Angus bulls arrived in America. In 1873, George Grant settled in Victoria, Kansas with four Angus bulls from Scotland. To kick off this historical milestone, the Angus Foundation will host a 150 Years of Angus celebration during Cattlemen’s Congress at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 6. The doors to the Cattlemen’s Bar in Barn 3 at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds will open at 4:30 p.m. for the event. The evening of Angus fellowship will feature door prizes and auction items to benefit the Foundation’s mission, food and refreshments and the announcement of the 2023 Angus Herdsman of the Year. All are welcome to join the celebration and enjoy time spent with the Angus family. There is no RSVP required or ticket necessary. To read more about the event, click here.
